21 Day Juice Fast Journey - Day 8
Day 8 begins week 2 of the juice fast journey. Rainbow eating made easy with vegetable/fruit smoothies this week!
21 Day Juice Fast Journey - Day 7
Vegetables have been
the primary focus during week 1 of the 21 day juice fast journey. Remember
green inside is clean inside!
Day 7 started with CARROT ORANGE APPLE BEET juice. By noon I was ready for another liquid burst of energy; which I found with a smoothie from DrinkGreen, LLC. Lunch was a MEGA MIXED FRUIT GREEN SMOOTHIE (Spinach, kale, baby carrots, strawberry, pineapple, peaches, mango, and cherries).I topped off the evening with a KALE KICK smoothie from Whole Foods Market in Midtown Detroit (kale, blueberries, grapes ,banana ,pineapple juice).
In Detroit, we have
the good fortune of having many spots to purchase fresh juices and healthy
smoothies, when our schedules challenge our time to squeeze and blend at home.
I hope all neighborhoods across the map are or will experience the same type of
growth. Could be an entrepreneurial opportunity waiting for you!!!

21 Day Juice Fast Journey - Day 6
Juice fast journey, day 6 is a continuation of the wonderful fesh juices anyone can experience by visiting Pita Cafe or you favorite juice bar!
CARROT & SPINACH JUICE
Cut a carrot to see the connection between your eye and this power vegetable
SPINACH helps protect your body against osteoporosis
You can ask every health authority you know what are the daily recommended servings for vegetables and fruits and every time the answer will be 6-8 servings per day, which very few people actually get. Juicing is an easy way to virtually guarantee that you will reach your daily target for vegetables.
The top 3 reasons
to consider vegetable juicing are
1. you absorb all the nutrients
from vegetables
2. you to consume an optimal
amount of vegetables in an efficient manner
3. and you can add a variety of
vegetables to your diet

Today's juices were CARROT BEET CUCUMBER and CARROT ROMAINE
Cucumbers are often
referred to as a super food because they are known to be one of the best foods
for your body's overall health. Cucumbers have most of the vitamins the body
needs in a single day.
Five
benefits to eating cucumbers
1. Rehydrates the body and replenishes daily vitamins - Cucumbers are 95 percent water, keeping the body hydrated while helping the body eliminate toxins.

2. Skin and hair
care – The skin of the cucumber can be eaten for it’s vitamin C content.
The skin can also be used for skin irritations and sunburns as aloe would be
used. Place a slice over puffy eyes and its anti-inflammatory properties help
reduce puffiness. The silicon and sulfur in cucumbers help to stimulate hair
growth.
3. Fight cancers - Cucumber are known to contain lariciresinol, pinoresinol, and secoisolariciresinol. These three lignans have a strong history of research in connection with reduced risk of several cancer types, including breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer and prostate cancer.
4. Cures diabetes, reduces cholesterol and controls blood pressure - Cucumber juice contains a hormone which is needed by the cells of the pancreas for producing insulin which has been found to be beneficial to diabetic patients. Researchers found that a compound called sterols in cucumbers may help reduce cholesterol levels. Cucumbers contain a lot of potassium, magnesium and fiber; which all work effectively for regulating blood pressure..
5. Promotes joint health, relieves gout and arthritis pain -Cucumber is an excellent source of silica, which is known to help promotes joint health. They are also rich in vitamin A, B1, B6, C & D, Folate, Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium. When mixed with carrot juice, they can relieve gout and arthritis pain by lowering the uric acid levels

with pesticides so it is important to buy organic.

Sunshine ushered in day 2 of my 21 day juice fast journey. All of my juices da 1 - 7 will come from my
favorite spot for lentil
soup, La Pita Cafe (696 & Greenfield - Southfield, MI). You will find carrots in every juice I drink this week!
Carrots are loaded with minerals that include: sodium, iron, potassium, calcium, manganese and sulfur (the third most abundant mineral in your body after calcium).
Carrots are loaded with minerals that include: thiamin, niacin, vitamin B6 (aka folate), vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K and vitamin A, which is good for your eyes. They also are high in dietary fiber and contain beta-carotene which is great for weight loss!
Breakfast and dinner juice was CARROT-CELERY-SPNACH-PARSLEY
Spinach contains anti-oxidants and anti-cancer causing agents. This vegetable is a great source
of vitamin K, folate, magnesium and Betaine (which is used to cleanse the blood
system and relax the mind).
